The Oval Office reads along on Vlaanderenleestdag
On 23 April, not coincidentally World Book Day, all of Flanders will be absorbed in a good book. Vlaanderenleestdag is an initiative by the Flemish government as part of the Leesoffensief. For the second year in a row, they are teaming up to help us all (re)discover the pleasure of reading. As last year, The Oval Office was tasked with developing a playful media campaign.
Read. Always. Anywhere.
Whether you’re at home or on the go, at work or at school: if you have your phone or a book close to hand, you can read. Anytime, anywhere. That is what this year’s edition of Vlaanderenleestdag wants to emphasise. That is why the organisers are challenging all schools, businesses and associations in Flanders to motivate people to make time for reading by setting up a special reading space or planning a special reading moment.
The Oval Office came up with a concept that emphasises the pleasure of reading in a playful manner. Every image in the series of visuals depicts someone who is so engrossed in a story that they are forgetting all about their original task or activity. These visuals are distributed among the different target groups both in print and online via social media.
So, no more excuses … grab a book and read along on 23 April. Do you like to read on location? Then discover all the activities in your neighbourhood on vlaanderenleestdag.be
